Three things we can state plainly: what our fabrics are made of, where they are woven, and what they are tested for.
01 · Sustainability
Made to be handed down
Our fabrics are made from natural cotton fibres. Processing is designed to be water-conscious: dyeing and finishing with as low an input as possible. We build for longevity: a cloth washed for years and then handed on replaces several that would not have survived.
Packaging is reduced to what is needed and recyclable. Cutting and making-up are planned to leave as little textile waste as possible; offcuts are made into smaller items.
We work with muslin in a range of weights, measured in g/m² (GSM). The number describes the weight of the fabric: lower means lighter and airier, higher means more substance and warmth. Ask us and we'll tell you exactly what's in your hands.
02 · Sourcing
The same mills, over years
We work with a small number of partner mills and stay with them. Long relationships make conditions verifiable: safe workplaces, fair pay, regulated hours. Forced labour and child labour are excluded.
Every batch is traceable from fibre to finished product. We publish that chain as soon as an item goes on sale.
03 · Free from harmful chemicals
Tested for harmful substances
Our suppliers test their fabrics against recognised standards such as OEKO-TEX Standard 100, which limits harmful substances like azo dyes and formaldehyde, making them suitable for newborn and sensitive skin. As we source from these manufacturers ourselves, we don't hold certifications in our own name, but the relevant safety and compliance certificates for any item we bring to market can always be requested.
